The Town of Solon Board approved covering the tax on Councilperson Greg Smith’s training reimbursement at its Nov. 18 meeting.
Greg Smith reported that when he booked training earlier in the month his personal online rate was cheaper than the town's tax-exempt rate, so he "kept his original booking rate and is asking for the town to reimburse with the tax included." Brian Guernsey moved to approve paying the tax on the reimbursement; Jim Barden seconded. The motion passed with all aye votes recorded and Greg Smith abstaining.
Separately, the board approved the month's bills on a motion by Greg Smith and a second by Brian Guernsey. The minutes do not specify the training provider or the exact tax amount to be reimbursed.
