Resident tells Solon board bridge chunks falling into water, says road work worsened flooding

Larry Moore said the bridge above his house has material coming off it and that the raised road grade has worsened flood damage. "Chunks are falling off and into water," Moore said, adding that the road "is several feet higher that it used to be and that the flooding is getting worse and causing lots of damage." He also noted the waterway is labeled a trout stream, "which requires special permits."
Town Superintendent Jamison Livermore told the board he has looked into obtaining permits for the bridge and other town problems but had no success so far and warned the permitting process is not quick. The board did not record a formal directive or a timeline for repairs during the meeting; the comment was recorded in the public comment section of the minutes.
