Town of Solon appoints Dana Smith to fill board vacancy through 2025

The Town of Solon Board on Nov. 18 appointed Dana Smith to fill an open council seat through 2025.
Supervisor Corey LaSalle asked whether any other candidates had come forward; no one had. "Dana Smith is appointed to finish the remainder of the term (2025) for the open board seat," the minutes state. Jim Barden moved to appoint Dana Smith and Brian Guernsey seconded. The motion passed with all aye votes and Councilperson Greg Smith recorded as abstaining.
Board members said the appointment will carry through the next annual reorganization meeting. The appointment resolves the vacancy until the term’s scheduled end in 2025 and will be recorded in town minutes and filings ahead of the Jan. 6, 2025 reorganization meeting.
