Gilroy officials invite residents to shape parks and trail master plan

Matt Morley, Gilroy's city administrator, told the forum the city is beginning a parks-and-trails master-plan update and encouraged residents to submit input online and attend upcoming outreach sessions.
"We're in that public input mode," Morley said, noting the last update was in 2005 and the city aims to identify trail gaps, crossing improvements and recreational priorities for the next 20 years. Staff said projects under consideration include more repair stations and pathway connections to improve safe routes to school and recreational access for neighborhoods.
Residents were directed to the city's recreation services webpage for comment opportunities; staff said they will release formal engagement materials and timelines soon.
