General Registrar Mark reported the office had placed a ballot order for a total of 26,195 ballots (including 24,300 election-day ballots and 800 absentee backup ballots), said mailed absentee ballots would go out by Sept. 18, and confirmed early voting would begin Sept. 19. He told the board the order does not include print-on-demand ballots produced during early voting and recommended keeping conservative numbers to ensure sufficient stock for Election Day.
Mark outlined logistical preparations: staff are finishing early-voting and election-day forms, programming poll pads and printing emergency paper poll books on Nov. 2, scheduling officers and shifts (three officers per shift in most early-voting windows, four per shift in the final week), and preparing absentee-mail processing dates. He said the office presently estimates mailing about 800 absentee ballots and is planning for pre-processing of mailed ballots beginning Oct. 28.
