The Springport Planning Board met on May 20, 2026, and was called to order by Chair Mike Sacco at 7:00 p.m.; members present included Karen Luziani, Amy Rindfleisch-Alcock, Cathy Dreverman, Dave Schenck and Priscilla Seward, with Jon Patterson absent. "The Town Planning Board will recommend AI Data Centers and BESS be located in the town zoning location of Industrial," the minutes record.
The board opened the meeting by approving the minutes from its March 17, 2026 session after a motion by Dave Schenck and a second from Cathy Dreverman; the minutes state the motion "carried" but do not give a roll-call vote. The board reviewed the town assessment procedure, noting a mini-reevaluation is done every three years and that the Town Board sets the frequency; the assessor uses Google maps, building permits and other pertinent data when preparing assessments. The board also agreed to forward a letter to Town Supervisor Andrew RIndfleisch and the Town Board requesting that AI data centers and battery energy storage systems be allowed in the Industrial zoning district. The meeting was adjourned at 7:35 p.m. after a motion by Dave Schenck and a second from Priscilla Seward.
