Fire chief reports 130 calls at Station 3 in July; new headquarters land finalized

Hooper said Station 3 answered roughly 130 calls in July with about 30 occurring in Toquerville. The district has added staffing in Springdale to improve first-response capacity and is pursuing a new headquarters: "We got our property finalized with the water district for the new headquarters station," he said, noting that the district expects to break ground on the new site. Hooper also referenced continuing coordination on the Wildland-Urban Interface (WUI) map and scheduling a county submission to the state.
Council thanked the chief and asked staff to coordinate scheduling for the WUI map presentation to meet county deadlines.
