Council reported an August 11 NJDOT presentation on flood mitigation to be held at the community center and said borough staff had requested formal scope documents and resident-notification letters but had not yet received them. Councilmember (S7) said she had repeatedly asked DOT for maps and a list of properties within a specified radius and urged the agency to provide materials before the scheduled outreach.
Separately, members raised safety concerns about DOT work on the 4047 bridge and adjacent traffic changes, warning that proposed closures of the pedestrian walkway could create hazardous pedestrian crossings. Council asked staff to press DOT for temporary pedestrian accommodations and to insist on clear resident notification and meeting materials ahead of Aug. 11.
