Council previews ordinance updates on invasive plants, conex boxes and outdoor displays

Council reviewed multiple proposed ordinance updates aimed at closing gaps in existing code: an invasive-plant/vegetation section to address bamboo and overgrowth, a provision for vehicles under repair, standards for outdoor items and possible rules for conex (shipping) containers. "There's a couple of things that need to be adjusted in there," one councilmember said, urging clearer penalties and enforcement mechanisms.

Members suggested using language from other municipalities as models and asked staff to draft specific penalty language and operational definitions for inclusion in a future ordinance packet. No final ordinance action was taken; staff will return revised draft language for council review and possible public hearing.
