A commissioner updated the commission on upcoming city events and infrastructure work and flagged a recent e-scooter crash that prompted public-safety outreach.
"The pool opens, this weekend, the 27th," the commissioner said, adding that the first concert is scheduled for the 23rd (weather permitting) and that the Mulberry vendor event will run with a slate of vendors. He said Veterans Memorial Park renovation work is underway and expected to be completed later in the summer pending materials deliveries and finishing work.
The commissioner told the panel that a recent accident involved two minors riding tandem on a scooter that struck a car; police are reaching out to parents and the city has issued guidance about e-scooter and e-bike safety. He said the community response to recent e-scooter information had been "very well received."
No formal action resulted from the report; commissioners noted ongoing maintenance and event scheduling.
