On March 12 the Saratoga Springs Planning Commission took action on three substantive agenda items and approved minutes: (1) Beacon Pointe Village Plan 8 — recommended to City Council with a modified condition requiring stronger architectural language (motion by Commissioner Scott A. Hill; second NH Rather). (2) Title 19.19 — Open Space amendment recommending broader amenity options and clarifying that public parks must be at least 5 acres and provide a one‑toilet restroom (motion by Commissioner Virginia Rae Mann; second Doug Willden). (3) Title 19.16 — Site and Architectural Design Standards amendment to allow targeted exceptions to the 5‑foot building buffer for corners and loading bays, with design protections discussed (motion by Commissioner Doug Willden; second Virginia Rae Mann).
All three items passed on unanimous recorded votes of 6–0 (Colton Miles absent). The commission also approved the minutes of Feb. 26, 2026 (motion by Commissioner Doug Willden; second Scott A. Hill) and adjourned at 7:07 p.m. The three forwarded recommendations will be considered next by City Council.
