Wilson said he and his wife bought eight acres in Erin shortly after moving to Tennessee and that much of his off-duty time is spent developing the property: clearing acreage, installing roughly 1,000 feet of fence and building furniture rather than purchasing it. "So pretty much every day that I'm not here, you know, I'll be getting up at 5 or 06:00 in the morning... getting all my deet on and getting ready for all the ticks," he said, describing outdoor chores and the local environment.
He said he enjoys rural life, plans to camp and hunt in the fall and winter, and appreciates being close enough to drive to Clarksville for amenities. Wilson framed these activities as part of settling a family life beyond his EMS duties.
