He said he enrolled in EMT school and began working in emergency medical services in 2021, later completing paramedic training in California before relocating to Tennessee.
Wilson described the move to Montgomery County as a pragmatic decision for family and career: after ranking states for cost of living, pay and paramedic opportunities, he said, "Tennessee blew everybody out of the water." He said a short visit and a meeting with Chief Harris led to a prompt job offer and a house purchase the same week, and that he has been with the department roughly four months. "I like working for this department," Wilson said, adding he sees a supportive culture and strong clinical knowledge among local providers.
