Board approves updates to Lexington 2 dual-enrollment equivalencies with Midlands Tech
Summary
Administrators updated the district's dual-enrollment equivalency chart to reflect changes in Midlands Technical College course offerings (e.g., updated statistical modeling equivalencies); trustees approved the updates and asked for outreach to parents so students know options early in planning.

Doctor McDonald introduced the item and turned the presentation over to Doctor Burghraff, who explained that each district determines equivalencies for dual-enrollment courses and that Lexington 2's equivalency chart had not been updated since 2017.
"Each school district in South Carolina gets to determine the equivalencies of dual enrollment courses and graduation requirements," Doctor Burghraff said, noting changes such as updating prior statistical equivalencies to the state statistical modeling course. He explained that some college courses remain "not recommended" because students may still need to take end-of-course exams to meet high-school standards.
After board questions about parent outreach and timing, a motion to approve the updates passed by voice vote; administrators said the equivalency chart will be included in student planning materials and the course catalog.
