Council approves special-use permit for 130-foot 'tree' cell tower at Old Waverly Cove

On Aug. 4 the Memphis City Council approved a special-use permit (SUP2025036) to allow a 130-foot monopole "tree" cell tower at 3778 Old Waverly Cove in Council District 2.
Chloe Christian of the Division of Planning and Development presented the case and said the applicant, Luke Katz, was present. Christian said public notices were mailed and the division "did not receive any comments of opposition or support" and that the proposal complies with the Memphis and Shelby County Unified Development Code. She explained that if approved the applicant will need to submit a final plat review to record the tower location.
Councilman Spinoza moved approval, and the item was adopted by recorded vote.
