Mayor John Murphy read a proclamation honoring the 1st Presbyterian Church of Petoskey for 150 years of community service and announced Aug. 9, 2026, as the 1st Presbyterian Church of Petoskey Day. Council expressed gratitude for the church’s partnerships with the Petoskey District Library and Crooked Tree Arts Center and acknowledged the church’s long history of community lunches and meeting space use.
The proclamation noted that the church hosts more than 500 community members for religious services and community events and recognized its mission, "Faith in Motion." The mayor invited church representatives forward for a photograph and the council offered congratulations.
