Supervisor Davina Thurston told the board she distributed copies of a land survey and showed property markers placed after the survey for a 16-acre parcel on West Main Street in Bloomingdale. Thurston said the town has no current plans to develop or sell the parcel and recalled that the board previously adopted a resolution not to sell the land because it had once been used as a dump and raised public-safety concerns.
Thurston said the right of way "does cut through multiple properties," and the board's principal concern is drainage at a culvert; she added the town will add rebar next to wooden stakes used as markers because the stakes will rot over time. Adjacent property owners who attended told the board they had no additional concerns provided the town maintains its stated lack of plans for the parcel.
No formal land-use decision or sale was proposed or voted on during the special meeting. The board limited the discussion to survey results, marker placement and safety/drainage questions and moved on after attendees indicated no further concerns.
