St. Armand board approves vouchers, contracts and local purchases; boundary adjustment approved with supervisor abstaining

The board approved a two-year quote from Northstar Lifts for $450 with an annual safety inspection for $375 following a motion by Councilperson JP O’Neil and second by Deputy Supervisor Karl Law. The board also approved a $500 purchase for an adjustable in-ground basketball hoop at the Youth Field to be expended from the Roost fund (motion by Councilperson Sheridan Swinyer; second by Deputy Supervisor Karl Law).
Separately, the board approved a boundary line adjustment between the Town Hall property and Supervisor Thurston’s property; the Town will pay half the survey and recording fees and Supervisor Thurston will pay the other half. Councilperson JP O’Neil moved the boundary adjustment; Deputy Supervisor Karl Law seconded. Supervisor Davina Thurston abstained from the roll-call vote; the other board members voted AYE and the motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 7:49 p.m.
Why it matters: these routine approvals carry the town’s financial and operational business forward. The abstention by the Supervisor on the property boundary adjustment was recorded and the board used standard roll-call procedure.
