The Town Board approved a request March 18 to solicit bids for installation of a new fire hydrant on East Main Street after Water Superintendent Jonathan Nielson described routine plant testing and plans to replace hydrants and order parts. Councilperson JP O’Neil moved the request for bids; the motion was seconded by Deputy Supervisor Karl Law and carried unanimously by roll call.
Nielson also reported that routine E. coli and total coliform tests were collected and returned OK, that FCC telemetry permits were updated, and that the department is procuring hydrant parts and pressure-testing gauges as part of maintenance work.
