The board moved and approved environmental compliance and a bond anticipation note to fund a rooftop solar array at the Department of Public Works garage. Village staff said the BAN amount for public certification is $294,000 (the low bid ran slightly higher) and that state funding offsets will cover part of the cost.
During discussion staff estimated the system will produce savings "approximately up to $60,000 per year," with an estimated payback on the capital outlay in roughly five to six years. Trustees also discussed ConEd coordination and expected a final confirmation on grid interconnection within two weeks; the motion to authorize the bond anticipation note and compliance resolution carried by voice vote.
