Bronxville mayor announces right-of-way tree program and DPW solar panels

Mayor Mary Marvin said the village has adopted several low-impact practices and announced a right-of-way tree program and solar installation for the Department of Public Works building. Marvin told attendees the DPW building will be "refitted completely with solar panels that will power the entire village hall," and urged residents to participate in a spring planting push tied to the right-of-way initiative. She encouraged homeowners and businesses to contact Village Hall or the village website to request a planting and said the village will share most of the tree cost through a partnership with the Historical Conservancy. The announcement follows the Bronxville Green Committee’s 2022 bronze certification in the New York State Climate Smart Communities program and positions the village to expand canopy cover and local stormwater benefits in coming seasons.
