Henry Berger, cochair of the New York State Board of Elections, opened the July 2 meeting and said the board would review staff determinations related to objections to independent nominating petitions and that the staff report had been distributed to members. "The purpose of today's meeting is to review staff determinations related to objections to independent nominating petitions," Berger said.
A motion to adopt the staff recommendations was made and seconded; after brief discussion the board proceeded to a vote and the chair announced, "This motion is adopted." The transcript records two members verbally indicating approval; individual vote names were not recorded in the transcript.
Berger also noted the board had received a letter from Todd Sloan disputing a staff determination in Congressional District 24; the letter was circulated to the board and considered before the vote. The board did not reverse any staff findings during the meeting. The chair called for any other business, and, hearing none, the meeting was adjourned.
