Vernon County reviews courthouse operations, parking, personnel policies and employee benefits

The Vernon County Commission convened a meeting with elected officials and department heads to review several administrative and operational matters, including employee parking in the north parking lot, the precise time courthouse doors should be unlocked daily by the custodian or security staff, and recent Sunshine Law requests. Attendees included Brent Banes (County Treasurer/Collector), Brandi McInroy (County Prosecutor), Lena Kleeman (County Assessor), Adrienne Lee (County Clerk) and other department heads recorded in the minutes.
The meeting also covered outside lighting at the courthouse’s north entrance — Commissioner John Shorten placed a call to Peery Cash of Cash Electric to request his opinion on obtaining more lighting — workers' compensation and working-from-home policies, parking lot repairs needed at the Sheriff’s Office, and employee mental-health insurance coverage. Commissioners thanked staff for cooperation during an elevator outage and specifically expressed appreciation to Recorder of Deeds Shelly Baldwin, Deputy Recorder Megan Healey and custodian Rick Warren for placing Red, White and Blue decorations for the country’s 250th anniversary.
