Guest Dan Kelleher of ROOST presented an overview of ROOST's role with the town; the Board thanked him for the presentation and discussed partnerships and project priorities. Later in the meeting the Board moved to approve $18,500 to be paid to AEDA from ROOST funds for architectural and engineering design work to support a grant application for youth field improvements.
Deputy Supervisor Karl Law moved to approve the $18,500 quote from AEDA to come from ROOST funds; Councilperson Donna Whitelaw seconded the motion. The motion passed 5–0 on a roll call vote. Councilperson JP O'Neil also announced a related community event and said, "Bitter Sweeter will be playing the 1st show at the Youth field band shell and it will be on Thursday July, 17 from 6-8pm," noting the Youth Task Force will sell snacks and drinks.
The minutes record the board will pursue the state grant opportunity (applications due Aug. 15) and that AEDA will prepare designs that will be evaluated for affordability as part of the application process.
