Town says long-term living in campers without water and sewer is not allowed; police urge coordination with code enforcement

A resident asked whether the town could take action against people living in abandoned dwellings. Supervisor Davina Thurston told the meeting that the Town updated its water and sewer rules and regulations to make it illegal for someone to live long term in a camper that does not have access to water and sewer.

Chief Perotti noted that property information and enforcement are intertwined across town code enforcement and police work, saying coordination and sharing of information is necessary to address property-based problems. "It's all about sharing information and communicating with each other to keep everyone in the loop of what is going on at a certain property," Perotti said.
