The Town Board voted to authorize the Town Supervisor to sign a sales agreement with Auctions International to handle online auctions of surplus equipment, vehicles and other municipal assets.
The resolution authorizes use of Auctions International for up to two years and lays out terms: the auctioneer will sell items "as is, where is," buyers will pay a buyer's premium (4%–10% depending on item age), and the auctioneer will remit proceeds to the Town within 15 business days after funds are collected. The contract allows the Town to require minimum acceptable prices and permits the auctioneer to obtain photos and condition reports for a small fee if the Town cannot provide them.
Councilperson JP O'Neil moved the resolution and Councilperson Sheridan Swinyer seconded; the board adopted the measure by roll call with two recusals recorded. The minutes show the intent is to provide a municipal outlet for surplus sales and deposit proceeds into Town checking accounts.
