The Town of St. Armand on Jan. 22 approved a $4,800 quote from Atlantic Underwater Services to inspect the water reservoir and clearwell. Water Superintendent Jonathan Nielson raised the need for the inspection; Councilperson JP O’Neil moved to approve the Atlantic quote, and the motion passed on a unanimous roll call vote.
Supervisor Davina Thurston told the board the town’s WQIP (Water Quality Improvement Program) application secured $300,000 for the well-field, and the St. Armand wastewater treatment plant received a separate $1,000,000 WQIP grant for a disinfection project. The minutes also record approval of a $2,000 quote from Robert Guy to update the well-field survey and discussion of insulating the well-field building and adding heat; no firm construction schedule was recorded.
