Resident urges enforcement after repeated loose‑chicken incidents

At the 'good of the order' portion of the meeting, resident John Neihart of 104 U Road described recurring problems from a neighbor's loose chickens, saying it was "the 5th time in a week and 0.5" he had chased birds out of his yard and that they had torn up his garden. Neihart asked what recourse exists and whether fines apply under the township ordinance.
Director Sweeney and the solicitor described the ordinance limits and enforcement options: permits are required for more than six birds and violations can result in notices of violation and, if needed, an MDJ complaint. The solicitor offered to follow up and staff committed to provide Neihart a written explanation of enforcement steps. "Please work with the staff, and I will contact follow-up with Isaac Sweeney tomorrow," the solicitor said.
