Board tables PPL streetlight LED conversion until exhibit reviewed

Director Powell asked the board to adopt a resolution authorizing an agreement with PPL Electric Utilities to replace 576 township streetlights with LED fixtures and for PPL to supply and install the equipment. Powell said no special installations were expected to increase costs to the township and that the conversion would reduce energy use.
Commissioners questioned who would own the fixtures (PPL indicated poles and service remain with PPL), whether indemnification language was appropriate, the length of the contract and the missing or mislabeled Exhibit A that defines term and locations. Because exhibit A was not clearly present in the packet, several members asked for time to review it and the board opted to table the item to a future meeting. "They would be, doing the work to replace all 576 streetlights in the township," Powell said during the presentation.
