Commissioner Frank Farina asked that the city organize training for both the planning commission and the zoning board of appeals, suggesting a December–January time frame so newer members would receive the same refresher the board had previously undertaken. "It's been several years since we've had any training," Farina said, urging staff to coordinate with the law firm and planner.
Planner Dan Comer acknowledged the request and said staff (and outside consultants) would coordinate a session. Comer also notified commissioners that an application had been received for a group family day care special land use (13–20 children) that will be scheduled as a public hearing in September. Commissioners asked staff to circulate public hearing notices and supporting materials in advance.
