General Manager details legislative outreach, FOG outreach plan and Monte Cristo Lane schedule

General Manager Weigel presented the board with a written report and highlighted several near-term operational priorities, including legislative outreach, a revised FOG program and the Monte Cristo Lane capital project schedule.
"This is all in preparation for support on their part of some of the many funding issues we have at the district," Weigel said of upcoming plant tours for staff from legislative offices. He said staff have been meeting with both state and federal legislative staffs and will host staff from a senator's and a congress member's offices for plant tours in February and March as part of funding preparations.
Weigel described the FOG program update as "basically almost a new document" aimed at food-preparation facilities that discharge to the system and said the district will include the program in its outreach plan and conduct visits to schools, hotels and restaurants in coming months. On the Monte Cristo Lane project, he said the district's RFP is complete, responses are expected within about two months, design will follow, construction bids will be solicited in June, the contract awarded in July and construction targeted to start in August.
Directors had no clarifying questions for the manager during the report; the board moved the remaining agenda items and later returned to broader strategic issues.
