Rathmell introduced RL26-155, a resolution to designate an honorary street name for Major Barnett Senior Way on a portion of Carroll Street between Holly Street and Susquehanna Street.
Deputy Clerk Samantha Castello said the Barnett family had requested the honor and that the designation is honorary: it would not change city maps or require USPS address changes, only signage. "We were very, very fortunate to have Major Barnett senior's son come down and talk about Major Barnett senior's incredible legacy of service to the city of Binghamton," Castello said, and she noted that signage funds exist in the budget line. Chair members asked for expedition and the committee voted to expedite RL26-155 to the upcoming business meeting for final consideration.
