The village board reviewed an updated building-permit application and an associated checklist intended to make clear which projects require referral to water and wastewater, zoning and planning, or code enforcement. Trustees asked staff to add a note about the $75 application fee and specify where to submit it, reference the town’s fee approach for later comparison, and include explicit language for HVAC/solar inspections and installation inspection requirements.
“The only cost we know at the point of accepting an application permit is the permit application fee,” the Chair said, noting the $75 filing fee that the transcript records as the current application fee. Staff said they will produce fillable PDFs to enable electronic submission in the future and will circulate a finalized application once edits requested by trustees are incorporated.
Trustees asked the code enforcement officer to advise whether to adopt the town’s square‑footage approach or retain the village’s cost‑based method when the fee schedule is next updated.
