Lynchburg schools complete FMX rollout; staff training to begin this week

Facilities staff reported that FMX, a districtwide facilities-management platform, has completed its implementation and integration and will be rolled out to designated faculty and staff this week. The system combines work-order management, capital planning, event and warehouse management, and a utilities manager to monitor costs and consumption.
"FMX will ultimately provide us with much stronger, more meaningful data moving forward," said the facilities staff presenter (introduced in the meeting as Travis Marshall). He told the committee that the district expects FMX to help identify recurring maintenance needs and better inform capital-prioritization decisions; staff plan to provide a first FMX progress report at next month's meeting.
Committee members asked that FMX reporting include data useful for anticipating large renovation needs (for example repeated chiller failures) and additional detail on transportation fuel and bus-maintenance spending, which the chair said he will request in future updates.
