Race operations: weekend delay, movie night planned at the Speedway

Bob Sargent updated commissioners that weather forced a rain delay during last weekend's race, which the track finished on Sunday in coordination with campus staff and soccer events.
"We had our race last weekend. Weather, mother nature played with us a little bit, so we had to ... finish it on Sunday," Sargent said, adding the season will wind down with the All American 400 in November and smaller events in October.
Board members asked specifics about a Speedway movie night. Organizers said the event will use grandstand seating, place screens on the grandstand side of the fence, activate the track and pit areas for family activities including bounce houses and concessions, and offer parking inside the infield; they confirmed the movie night will be free to visitors.
