Soccer, concerts and expos keep Fairgrounds campus active through August

Nashville Soccer Club officials told the Fair Board the venue will host multiple August matches, including a League Cup game, while expo and concert bookings keep the campus operating near projection for July.
Ryan Harbor, representing Nashville Soccer Club, told the Metro Board of Fair Commissioners that August is a busy month at Geodis Park with at least six home matches, including a League Cup match tomorrow at 7 p.m. and an MLS regular-season match Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
"Our next home match will be tomorrow evening at 7PM. It's part of League's Cup," Harbor said. He thanked campus partners for coordination that helps the club stage events alongside other campus uses. Chair (presiding) praised the activation, saying that campus activation is the board's purpose.
The board also heard that expo and market programming remain steady: Ryan Jensen's event-services report later in the meeting noted 18 expo events in July, five new events booked, and vendor counts at the Nashville flea market (203 vendors, 431 occupied spaces). Officials said overall event revenue for July was roughly on projection.
