Council considered applications for the Planning & Zoning Commission and moved to appoint four applicants who had submitted applications. Chair (Speaker 1) read the recommended names and motioned to appoint the nominees; staff (Speaker 6) later advised the council that the city's planning code requires appointments be for full two-year terms, so the council amended the motion and restated the appointments as two-year terms beginning 01/14/2026 and ending 01/13/2028.
Council discussed staggering expirations so the board does not rotate off all seats at once and asked staff to prepare a resolution describing the staggering approach. The council thanked the appointees and staff said onboarding materials and email packets would be sent.
