Resident warns Garvey Corridor transit report is 'unbuildable' and risks legal liability

Escito said the 2021 report copied material from other agencies, omitted Cal State LA as a critical node, and she concluded "This project is unbilledable," warning the curb-running and side-running configurations would violate PROWAG and require massive street widening, utility relocation and costs she estimated at "$25,000,000 per 1 mile." She said the advisory had been forwarded to LA28's executive committee and federal transportation civil-rights officials.
The council thanked the commenter and invited attendance at the ad hoc committee meeting in Rosemead on July 20. Council members asked staff to post the meeting agenda on the city's website and to share the comment with regional partners. No formal action was taken by the city other than acknowledging the public comment record.
