Staff told the council that, "over the last 6 years since August 2020, we have discounted Blue Ridge ISD's water by $16,191.51," and that the discount was tied to easement agreements. Chair (Speaker 1) said the easement is recorded and paid for and that she will contact Dr. Floyd to explore whether the discount agreement can be ended or renegotiated now that the easement is fulfilled.
Council members raised questions about whether the district has land within city limits that would affect future discounts and asked staff to pull the signed contracts for review. Chair said all data provided under the contract must be delivered to the city and confirmed that staff will review the agreements and report back with legal and fiscal implications.
