A resident and city staff told the Blue Ridge City Council that the Texas Department of Transportation has slated a traffic signal study at the intersection of FM 825 and US 78 but will perform the count outside of holiday months to avoid skewed data. "This intersection... is still in the queue for study," Chair (Speaker 1) said, adding TxDOT "didn't wanna do a traffic study during November and December and January because of the holidays."
During public comment, resident Alex Gamble (Speaker 7) asked for any new information about the signal; staff confirmed the intersection is slated for a traffic signal but said no firm timeline was available. Council said accurate counts are important and staff said they would inquire with TxDOT about an estimated timeframe for installation.
