Board hears True North reorganization update; members say most districts may remain

The board received an update on True North at the Oct. 28 meeting. The liaison said the reorganization plan is nearing final form and that the matter will come back to the board in November or December.
Board members discussed that several districts that had considered withdrawing from True North may instead remain in the consortium under the new, lower-cost structure. One administrator said their belief is that more than 12 of 18 districts will stay and suggested that as many as 16 may remain; the board noted any district choosing to withdraw would need to pass a resolution before the November deadline.
The administration said that based on conversations with True North leadership the district currently expects to continue membership under the revised structure; board members who disagree can request a resolution be placed on the November agenda.
