DPW asks council to transfer funds for emergency repairs, false-alarm fire panel and materials

At the central garage, he said an obsolete fire‑alarm panel is intermittently calling the fire department and is nearing end of life, making replacement a safety priority. "That panel has been phased out... To get parts for it, we are to the point where we are looking at eBay," Palutti said.
He also asked for more construction-materials funding to keep up with persistent potholes and an unusual number of sinkholes this year. Council discussed contingency lines, asphalt price volatility and asked for follow-up details on City Hall infrastructure issues. A motion to expedite the budget transfer was moved and seconded; roll call recorded a 5–0 vote to expedite.
