Alger County health department reports balanced finances, expands 'Rx Kids' to whole Upper Peninsula

On the department's outreach tools, the presenter said, "we rolled out our customer satisfaction surveys," noting overwhelmingly positive responses and that the surveys will guide service improvements.
Commissioners asked about revenue composition and program eligibility; the presenter said about 84% of revenues come from federal and state sources and about 4% from local appropriations, and explained that many programs (including school-based services) are voluntary for participating schools. The report packet and discussion were accepted as presented and the board moved on to other agenda items.
