Public-works staff reported that Sandvik Park's playground has been corded off and out of service for several weeks due to worn surfacing and weeds. "Probably about 5 weeks ago. It's been a while," the public-works supervisor said when describing the closure and planned remediation.
Staff said they plan to deploy the village crew (three rotating workers) later in the week to strip old surfacing, install new weaving area material and re-mulch. Board members asked for timing and costs; staff said they will provide price estimates for this and other park repairs for consideration at a future meeting.
