The MUNDAY CISD board on June 15 approved a budget amendment to include repairs to the district roof and related air-conditioning work. The motion passed unanimously among members present, 5-0, with Michael Loper and Jordan Lowe absent.
Committee member Pate Stewart moved the amendment, which was seconded by Committee member Calder Cude. The board recorded votes in favor from Jason Bowman, Calder Cude, Megan Myers, Pate Stewart and Steven Urbanczyk. Board materials and discussion attributed rising expenditures to roof and AC issues that pushed debt-service and repair costs higher than initially projected.
District staff told trustees that while most expenditures were tracking as expected, lease payments on copiers and the unexpected roof/AC work had raised overall costs. The board listed the roof/AC work as the primary justification for the amendment and approved the budget change to ensure those repairs could proceed during the upcoming construction planning and manufacturer walkthrough.
