Erath County Commissioners Court enacted a countywide burn ban on Aug. 10 for a period of 90 days and included specific welding restrictions, citing dry weather conditions. The presiding official said humidity was low and winds were elevated, prompting the court to add welding restrictions to the motion.
"We'll put the burn ban on for 90 days with welding restrictions," a commissioner motioned; the court seconded and approved the motion by voice vote. Staff said the official order would be distributed as soon as possible and directed emergency personnel to enforce the restrictions per county policy.
