Board members approved the district's emergency operations plan after staff explained the updates were minor (name and signature-page changes, removed references to an identified campus). The chair reminded the board that the plan is not released to the public because Nebraska law allows certain safety-related documents to remain confidential.
"Nebraska by statute 84 dash 7 12 dot o 5, which does allow this document to remain confidential, as it solely pertains to the protection and security of public property and persons," the chair said when discussing public access. The board then moved to approve the plan as presented (motion by Merrigan, second by Snyder) and recorded affirmative votes.
