Board tables Reitz Elementary design item for committee review
Summary
The board agreed to table a non‑material design-phase item for Reitz Elementary—work funded by DEP engineers under a grant—so it can be addressed at next week's committee meeting rather than as a special meeting vote.

A board member urged the board to move the Reitz Elementary physical plant design item to committee rather than approve it at the special meeting, saying the work is a design phase provided by DEP under a grant and no district funds would be transferred at this stage.
"We're not spending any money. This cost us nothing until we agree on the final design that they give us," the board member said, explaining the district must later choose a design and that DEP will provide engineering support under the grant. Following discussion, a motion to table the item to next week's committee meeting was seconded and carried by board vote.
Members said tabling the item gives staff and the community time to review design options and ask questions at a committee meeting where more detailed discussion can take place.
