The Village of Davis Junction board approved a series of small capital purchases July 8 to bolster redundancy in wastewater and water systems.
Trustees approved Resolution 25-34 to buy RAS/WAS pump parts from LAI for $5,117.33. As staff explained, these are parts kept on the shelf so the utility can perform a quick in-house rebuild if a return-activated-sludge or waste-activated-sludge pump fails. S9 described the need: "These are basically parts... For the RAS, basically, to rebuild a RAS or WAS pump" and noted the items had been budgeted previously.
The board also approved Resolution 25-35 (parts for the well #1 valve project, $7,000.04 to Core & Main) and Resolution 25-36 (parts/installation to Stenstrom for $8,311). Staff said the purchases prepare the system for a potential filter project next season and reflect long-standing budgeted items.
All three resolutions were moved, seconded and approved by roll call during the meeting.
