Sylvia told attendees the council has set aside $500,000 from borrowed funds for a veterans memorial sculpture and said potential sites include near the American Legion Post and along city parks. "In that borrowed, the council has allocated $500,000 for a sculpture that will pay homage to our veterans," she said.
She also introduced David Garcia, community relations officer for American Legion Post 533, and said the post sits on city property and will be a partner in planned parking and site improvements. The announcement was presented as part of a broader set of quality-of-life investments funded through reallocations and borrowing.
